Terms of our African plains game hunting safaris

1.    All animals subject to availability and permits.

2.    All prices subject to:

a) year of the safari;
b) change without notice.

3.    The days you are collected from and returned to Port Elizabeth are safari days; full daily rates payable.

4.    Small game for mounting must be shot with small calibre/low velocity rifles.

5.   Quills, feathers, artefacts, rocks, twigs, seeds etc. are biologically, historically and ecologically important to the environment and are charged. Remember that most items require export permits.

6.    Minimum safari: 7 days.

7.    All dipping/packing, transportation/shipping of trophies for client's account, after the safari.

8.    No refunds for late arrivals or early departures. Trophy fees payable at completion of safari.

9.    Wounded and/or lost animals must be paid for in full.

10.  Daily rates include transportation while hunting, services of a Professional Hunter, trackers, skinners, ranch staff, accommodation, laundry, meals, alcohol (only beer, wine, scotch and vodka are available) and beverages.

11.   Payment in travellers cheques, credit card (Visa, Mastercard and American Express) or cash only.

12.   Speciality foods and drinks are not included in the daily rates. Foreign bank transfer and currency conversion fees are for client's account.

13.    Any animal or bird wounded and lost at the time safari ends, or shot and NOT exported from South Africa, is subject to Value Added Tax of 14% added to the trophy/cull fee. (A Government regulation)

14.    No meat included in the animal's price.

15.    No substitution of game species in packages.

16.    No transfers of game between hunters and non hunters in packages allowed, unless agreed to by the outfitter.

17.    Additional animals shot or wounded must be paid for in full.

18.    Special rules for children; please enquire.

19.    BOOKING FEES, CANCELLATIONS, REFUNDS:

a) Booking

All hunts require 50% deposit on booking and balance six months prior to safari. Deposits not refundable but remain a credit transferable to other hunters who take over a cancelled hunt.

b) Donated hunts

Once booked and paid, can be transferred with prior approval of outfitter. Donated hunts require $1 000 booking fee against trophy fees if so specified on donation form to reserve a date or other firm commitment.

c) Death

In case of a safari member's death prior to the safari date where payment has been made, the full amount less  $1 000 booking fee will be refunded.

d) Illness

In case of a safari member's serious illness, serious hospitalization, or death in member's immediate family, there is a $1 000 booking fee to change the safari date. If complete cancellation occurs, 50% of the total payment made will be refunded. Proof of circumstances must be submitted to Richard Holmes Safaris before refunds paid. For cancellation other than specified, no monies will be refunded.

e) Changing dates/cancellations

No monies paid are refundable except under the following conditions:

- changing booked dates for other than death/illness above, 25% of the quoted cost will be added.

- in case of donated hunts, $1 000 booking fee required to book new date. The initial booking fee will be forfeited.

Richard Holmes Safaris and their representatives are not responsible for finding new hunters for previously booked dates.
